Krista Rogers, publicist and owner of the San Diego-based marketing firm 24k PR, is looking to combine her water talents with her 9-to-5 expertise to help steer professional water skiing into a new era. “I feel like I’m in a unique position. My experience as a publicist allows me to view the sport from an outsider’s perspective. But I’ve also been involved in the ski scene a long time and I understand the sport’s potential.”
Rogers, the 2010 Women’s 1 national jump and overall champion, hopes to have a hand in directing this season’s biggest professional events. Furthermore, she is the face (and body) behind Radar Skis’ latest marketing campaign to launch the company’s new Feather Frame binding chassis system. “This is really the first modeling job I’ve ever done. When [Radar brand manager] Chris Sullivan approached me with the idea, I had no idea what I was getting into.” Apparently, when it comes to promoting the sport, Rogers is keen to go all in.
