Twenty-three of the nation’s top collegiate water ski teams will compete in the 35th Collegiate Water Ski National Championships, Thursday through Saturday, at Imperial Lakes near El Centro, California. Hosted by the National Collegiate Water Ski Association, the Nationals will include 12 teams in Division 1 and 11 teams in Division 2.
At the 2012 Collegiate Water Ski Nationals, the University of Louisiana-Monroe won the Division 1 national team title for the 24th time in the history of the event. Click on the photo gallery of last year’s event. Photos: John Mommer
Teams competing in Division 1 are: Alabama, Arizona State, Cincinnati, Florida Southern, Grand Valley State, Kansas, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, Miami of Ohio, Michigan State, Rollins, and Wisconsin.
Teams competing in Division 2 are: Auburn, Clemson, Chico State, Iowa State, Louisiana State, North Carolina, San Diego State, Texas State, UC Davis, UCLA, and Western Washington.
The NCWSA, a sport discipline organization of USA Water Ski, is comprised of more than 45 collegiate water ski teams from four regions. Intercollegiate water ski competition began under the NCWSA in 1979. The NCWSA’s major tournaments include the Nationals and the Collegiate All-Stars Water Ski Championships.
