MALIBU BOMBARDS DEALERS WITH 2002 PRODUCT INFORMATION
Malibu Boats begins the 2002 model year with Regional Dealer Meetings.
(Merced, CA) – After the introduction of five new Malibu boats and their design of almost every model in the existing Malibu arsenal, Malibu Boats gathered what strength they have left to unleash these 2002 advancements on their exclusive dealer network. A total of four Malibu Regional Dealer Meetings are being held throughout the month of August to bring Malibu dealers up to speed on Malibu's fifteen 2002 models.
The most recent meeting was held in California where dealers were inundated with 2002 product information. Malibu's Western and North Western Regional Sales Managers, Steve Clothier and Mark Gibbs, schooled dealers on five new Malibu boats as well as a long list of 2002 innovations. Dealers paid particular attention to Malibu's new 2002 XTi. Offered as a Sunsetter and a Wakesetter, the XTi capacitated dealers with its versatility and unique design. Malibu's XTi is the first tow boat to truly bridge the gap between V-drive space and D-drive handling. The interior of the boat is designed for optimum capacity, while the direct-drive design coordinates with Malibu's award winning V25 Diamond Hull and the Instantaneous Response System (IRT) to assure superior handling in any sport boating situation.
Malibu dealers were also in awe of the redesigned 21 foot V-drives. The redesigned Sunscape 21 LSV and Wakesetter VLX took everyone by surprise and joined the XTi as highlights of the meeting. The new deck and hull of the Sunscape 21 LSV give the boat a sleek new profile that barely resembles that of years past. The new deck on the Wakesetter VLX accomplishes the same task. These boats also feature additional wrap-around lounge seating, a new upholstery layout, a new dash area and a new built-in 60-quart ice chest.
Through out the presentation of Malibu's new 15-model line-up, dealers were peppered with the new features offered in 2002. Meeting presenters discussed new gel coat graphics and colors as well as new decals. The new Wakesetter Series tribal art decal was the favorite among these topics. Dealers agreed that the new tattoo-style decal captures the grassroots wakeboarder image that many new boat buyers are looking for.
Presenters also discussed new 2002 Malibu technologies like Malibu Sound Suppression Technology (MSST), the new rear Malibu Launch System (MLS) and new space age flooring. Malibu power received a lot of attention too with the introduction of CNC cut propellers that increase acceleration and top speed.
After this five hour presentation and discussion at Malibu's California facility, dealers were transported to a near by lake where they had the opportunity to live the 2002 changes. Dealers jumped from boat to boat, driving and exploring the new models. With only a break for lunch, dealers spent the remainder of the afternoon putting the new Malibu's through the paces.
According to Clothier, ''Dealers were amped about the new 2002 models and features. The influx of boat orders following the meeting proved that. I think the unlimited access dealers were given to the 2002 models on the water was the key to this meeting's success. Not only did we talk about the strides Malibu has made for 2002, we let them see for themselves.''
Dealers are walking away from these regional meetings with an understanding of the new Malibu product that can only be rivaled by its creators and an excitement that is unmatched.
