The Real Deal
Correct Craft calls its Air Nautique 196 the most universal family recreational boat made. Built from the same hull as the Ski Nautique Open Bow with the original Total Surface Control hull, it provides tournament-level performance with extreme versatility, the makers say, with wakes for every discipline. They also note this boat is among the company’s most affordable.
The Air Nautique 196 sacrifices nothing in construction to the bigger boats in the line, featuring an integrated composite stringer system that is fiberglassed into the hull. It also features the Smart Pod dash, which has Coded Keyless Ignition, Vision Series Teleflex gauges that have LCD digital displays with both an arc hand and numbered readout and serial switching. There’s a unique deviation indicator on the speedo, which makes holding speed easy even without speed control. Another great feature is the locking in-dash storage/cooler, which keeps refreshments right at hand. This boat comes standard with an AM/FM CD marine stereo, Air Graphics, a Flight Control Tower and a large trunk that is ideal for extra ballast.
The Air Nautique 196 is compact but versatile. Its wakes serve double duty-being near world-class for slalom and offering an ideal wakeboarding wake for juniors or intermediate advancing riders. If you are into wakeboarding, slalom or just cruising, the Air Nautique 196 is one of the most versatile and fun small boats on the water.
