Tige doesn’t slap on the “Riders Edition”
label willy-nilly in its 2003 model lineup. For a boat to get that
distinction, it has to earn it through superior wakeboarding
features, style and performance. In the case of the 20V Riders
Edition, pros Keith Lyman, Daniel Watkins and Cathy Williams have
used it to propel themselves to wakeboarding championships. Just
imagine what kind of rider you can become with it.
After all, this boat delivers where it counts the most: the
shape of the wakes. Tige’s constant pursuit of the perfect
wake has led to a series of innovations, including TAPS, a patented
wake-adjustment system that allows you to dial the running attitude
up or down to tailor wakes. Now, the company introduces the ConvexV
hull, which has an upward curve at the end of the boat rather than
a downward hook. In our test run, we watched as TAPS and the
ConvexV teamed up to produce smooth, buttery peaks, no-curl lips,
soft transitions, wide landing zones and clean, large double-ups.
Load up the “Triple Threat” ballast to beef up the
wakes even more.
When you’re ready to take a break from the pro-level runs,
relax in the open bow, the wraparound lounge or on the enormous sun
deck. For its 20-foot length, the 20V has an especially wide beam
at 96 inches, a Tige hallmark. That opens up more space for
passengers, though quarters are cozy around the cockpit. The bow
features contoured backrests for improved comfort and a swing-away
backrest in the walk-through. The bow seats lift up to reveal broad
storage space. Rear storage is huge with plenty of room for six
boards and skis or more.
What else could you want? Great tracking that keeps the boat
steady even with a wakeboarder in tow? You got it. A solid ride
through choppy water and double-ups? Done. Adjustable wakes that
can dial all the way down for some recreational skiing? Can do.
Wakeboarding performance that could put you on the road to the
pros? No question.
