Malibu Sunscape 23 LSV
Malibu revamped the new 2004 Sunscape 23 LSV to further enhance its best features, namely passenger space, drivability and luxury styling.
The first thing we noticed, of course, was the extra roominess, thanks to 6 more inches in length and 3 more in width compared to last year's model. While adding all that legroom, Malibu engineers took the SV23 Diamond hull and fine-tuned it for this larger boat, exaggerating the V shape to create the V25 Diamond hull. Outfitted with oversized Gorilla tracking fins, the 23 LSV handles very well for a big V, with a ride as worry-free as we've come to expect from Malibu. The Italian-design steering wheel and throttle knob, the six-speaker Sony CD stereo, the one-piece windshield with stainless cap and the two-tone vinyl dash finish off the first-class look.
If you can tear yourself away from the cushy interior, yes, you can go skiing behind this boat. Hook on to the retractable ski pylon and you'll experience recreational wakes that will get you free skiing in big, open water.
It's hard to go wrong with a V-drive when it comes to wakeboarding, and this 23-footer throws up swells that will have intermediate riders hopping. The peaks are especially smooth and clean when the boat is weighted down, and navigating double-ups is no problem.
-This new model features significant changes from last year's boat, including the specially tweaked V25 Diamond hull and the larger length and width.
-Luxury amenities bring together Italian design, plush vinyl and chrome accents.
-The self-draining ice chest in the wraparound lounge is a whopping 96 quarts.
-The Gorilla tracking fins enhance the handling.
-A great choice for families wanting to cruise, ski and wakeboard with a classy V-drive.
