Since first impressions are so important, Tigé's 22V goes all out to woo and wow the wakeboard crowd with its swooped tower, shaped seats in the open bow, sick mega-size swim platform and in-your-face graphics packages that are available in the Riders Edition or the new West Coast Edition. All that makes this boat a truly legit wakeboarding machine. One of the most popular wakeboard boats of the line, the 22V pulls several of the world's top pro riders.
For the captain, the bolster seat sits you right up comfortably. The efficient dash gauges, although somewhat small, are easy to reach. Push a button on the speedo and scroll through the multifunction engine diagnostic and temperature displays. Controlling the TAPS2 system is no chore, either — it's effortless to adjust on the fly. A large, drainable cooler occupies the space beneath the passenger's seat, perfect for the crowds this boat is designed for. Optional stainless-steel cup holders throughout and removable carpet also cater to a crowd-happy boating experience. The 22V's excitement-inducing first impression holds true no matter how many times you see it.
The ConvexV hull and TAPS2 plate alone go a long way in tuning in the wakeboarding wakes, even without the help of ballast. The boat's performance in its stock configuration will more than entertain intermediate-level moves. But as a credit to its versatility, this 22V can accommodate ballast for those riders addicted to it. With the ConvexV hull, the 22V is fully capable of achieving pro-level-size wakes. The overall shape and lip of the wake ranked high with our testers and was easy to adjust with the TAPS2. On our wish list, though, would be a bit more of a landing zone. The 22V handled well in choppy water and when driving through double-ups. And if you're into wake surfing, wait until you see the swells behind this ride.
