If your kids are begging for a wakeboard boat with a serious wake, and you’re tired of begging the bank for a serious loan, look no further than the Mobius XLV. There aren’t too many wakeboard boats that offer advanced-level wakes for $39,995, which includes a trailer. No, you don’t get extravagant features in this ride, but what you do get is a well-built boat with a functional interior and wakes that will make the kids love you forever.
With a hull designed specifically for wakeboarding, it’s no surprise the Mobius XLV gave us awesome pop and smooth transitions, and kicked up big enough swells for advanced riders — all with the Gravity III ballast system and no additional weight. The only bummer was the time it took the system to fill and empty.
The Mobius XLV is a solid boat, even when maxed out with factory ballast and slicing through double-ups. Its turning radius is balanced, and the optional Indmar Assault 325-horsepower engine produced respectable results for a boat this size.
There isn’t much extravagance on board the Mobius XLV, but that’s not to say there aren’t touches of comfort. The interior provides plenty of room for up to 16 people, as well as five huge storage compartments.
