With a USA Water Ski-approved, record-capable hull, the official tow boat of the 2006 World Barefoot Championships, the GTR 22, looks like a hard-core ski boat on the surface. But in fact, the same traits that gear it toward tournament skiing and hard-core athletes make it versatile enough to suit families and recreational skiers as well. It not only creates a nice table for barefoot and trick, it also slices through rough water.
There are also more graphics and color options than ever before for 2007.
The design for the GTR 22 is so unique it's the only boat in the tow-boat industry with a copyrighted hull, and it has been a high-performance workhorse through and through. It features an integrated trim plate for an improved barefoot and trick table, as well as split-radius pressure-release flutes on the running surface, which channel water under the boat instead of pressing it up on the sides, thus entirely eliminating shortline spray. Not only will skiers have excellent visibility in the course; they'll also enjoy wakes that are very small and soft, welcoming aggressive cuts.
In addition to its hard-core skiing capabilities, the boat also offers versatility for rougher water thanks to its deep forward keel. The GTR 22's all-around performance has earned it a place in the tournament barefooting circuit as the official tow boat for the European Barefoot Championships in 2005 and the World Barefoot Championships in 2006.
