Ski Boat Review
The Malibu Wakesetter VTX may only be a compact 20-foot wakeboarding boat, but what it lacks in length, it makes up for in performance and convenience. The smallest wakeboard boat in Malibu Boats’ Wakesetter lineup feels like a much larger boat, but it still fits in any standard garage with room on board for 10. It’s a breeze to dock at low speeds, has super-stable tracking and allows controlled, quick turns. The bottom line: We feel the Malibu Wakesetter VTX is a great family wakeboard boat with wakes to satiate any beginner to intermediate rider.
Once you settle into the Malibu Wakesetter VTX, you have to be reminded it’s only 20 feet long. The wide beam extends to the bow, leaving plenty of room to stretch your legs. Plus, the spacious sun pad is easily enjoyed with the convenience of the pop-up pylon. Five-inch bolsters, the Italian Isotta steering wheel and a decked-out dash spoil drivers as well.
Given the size of this boat, the Malibu Wakesetter VTX has impressive wakes with long ramps and cushy landing zones. With the patented Power Wedge, stock 900 pounds of ballast and an optional 350-pound bow tank, beginner to intermediate riders will have plenty to play with. Opt for the Cut Diamond hull to get a more versatile boat with softer wakes for fun, open-water skiing.
1. Exterior graphics: New graphics for the Malibu Wakesetter line add even more flare to the look of the Wakesetter VTX.

3. Bling factor: Stainless-steel accents like handrails and cup holders give this machine a high-end vibe.
